Powerful operation
With a capacity of up to 6.0 tonnes, the mini-crane is used for many different applications, including construction, civil engineering and heavy-lift installation work.

Durable winch
Maeda's winch uses a disc brake that is highly durable for continuous use. Operations can be carried out over a long period from rooftops or construction sites.

Safety first
Tip-over prevention system
To prevent tipping accidents caused by overloading the crane, our moment limiting system (safe load indicator) is equipped as a superior safety standard. When the load reaches 90% of the total rated load, the crane triggers a warning with rotating lights and an audible alarm. When the load reaches 100%, the crane stops automatically to prevent tipping. A digital display allows the operator to check the operating status at any time.

What is the mini spider crane?

The mini spider crane is lifting equipment designed to lift heavy weights of up to 8 tonnes in confined, difficult-to-access or unstable environments.

Very compact, the mini spider crane can pass through a conventional door and deploy its stabilisers on a worksite to lift large loads while remaining stable. When deployed, its shape resembles a spider, hence its name.

Originally developed by Japanese companies, there are now several manufacturers of mini spider cranes.

Mini-crane manufacturers

Mini spider cranes are called different things by different companies and users. Often equipped with a vacuum lifting device, the mini-crane is called a vacuum mini-crane or vacuum crane.

A dual-energy mini-crane is also known as an electric mini-crane or electric mobile crane. The boom of the mini-crane is telescopic, which is why this equipment is sometimes called a telescopic mini-crane.

Finally, the mini-crane is moved by caterpillar tracks, which is why it is called a mini-crane on caterpillar tracks.

Different names for the same equipment

The mini-crane is relatively new to the French market. Thanks to its many advantages, this equipment is an effective and less expensive alternative to traditional cranes in certain situations.

Advantages of the mini-crane compared with other lifting equipment

Mini cranes are very compact, so they can be used on indoor or hard-to-reach sites that a mobile crane would not be able to access.

When working in a yard, the traditional solution is to lift loads from outside the yard with a lorry crane that passes over buildings. The mini-crane can then enter the yard to carry out the lifting work.

The cost of hiring a mini-crane is lower than that of a mobile crane, and heavy loads can be handled more quickly.

Mini crane vs mobile crane or lorry crane

Mini spider cranes can be installed in just a few minutes, which saves time compared with installing a tower crane. It does not replace a GME crane, but it complements one, and can save time, for example, when installing glazing during the construction of a building.

The mini spider crane can be transported from floor to floor to install the glass, making it possible to carry out operations quickly that would have been complex with a standard crane.

Finally, the mini spider crane stays very close to its load, so it can handle heavy equipment with ease.

Mini crane vs tower crane

In France, companies are beginning to offer mini-spider crane hire, and many regional companies have a few units of this type for hire. However, their stock is limited and there is no guarantee that they will have the mini spider crane you need, when you need it. As these companies generally have a limited radius of action, transport costs for more distant distances can sometimes be a deterrent.

A mini-crane is a specific piece of equipment and requires the support of an expert. That's why Aprolis' mini-crane hire service has teams trained in this very specific equipment, so they can advise you on your choice and help you get to grips with your mini spider crane.
